Shiatsu …

is a form of bodywork that originated in Japan and integrates modern western medical knowledge into its treatment methods.  I will invite you to lie down in a relaxed position on a soft mattress on the floor.  I will treat you by using my thumbs and hands to apply gentle pressure to specific points of your body. Instead of employing muscle power, however, I’ll  work by shifting my body weight. In other words, I will let my own weight mindfully sink into your body. This reestablishes deep-down energy connections.

The amount of pressure I use will of course depends on your individual needs and condition. Shiatsu treatments can therefore range from gentle to firm. They can release tensions and dissolve energy blocks. Your body will be able to relax deeply and at the same time feel revitalized. You will experience your body with greater consciousness and learn to sustain this relaxed and revitalized attitude in everyday life.

How does Shiatsu work?

Shiatsu can help to balance, calm, or revitalize you. Each treatment is an encounter in the here and now, between you and me – a sensitive dialogue in which I take care to adjust my treatment to your needs and the flow of your energy. Shiatsu works with what reveals itself. This makes each treatment individual and unique. Receiving shiatsu is therefore a very individual experience. Some clients perceive how inner spaces warm or open up. Others feel more flexible.

Shiatsu treatments are a calm shelter that open up space and time for you to feel yourself and regain a sense of self-awareness. The particular quality of touch in shiatsu provides people with emotional support. It helps them to feel safe and secure.
